Steroid cataract.Prolonged topical or systemic therapy with corticosteroidscan result in a posterior subcapsular opacity. The exact dose-response rela-tionship is not known (Fig. 7.14).

Other toxic cataracts can result from chlorpromazine, miotic agents(especially cholinesterase inhibitors), and busulfan (Myleran) used in the treatment of chronic myelocytic leukemia.
